Summer’s Fantasies by John North Wright
Artist: John North Wright
Album: Teenage Volleyballers
Swimming in the water
Lying on the sand
Hoping that the one I love
Would come and take my hand
Swimming in the water
Lying by the sea
Hoping that the one I love
Would come and lie with me
She’s so near and yet so far and yet
She still seems near to me
So far and yet so near and yet
She still seems far from me
The future brings so many things
Will it bring her to me?
Swimming in the ocean
‘Neath skies so pearly blue
And how much time do I have left
To fantasize of you?
Lying by the seashore
The waves wash up and down
My mind is drifting in the clouds
My body’s turning brown
Awaiting an encounter
With one I loved so well
Will she come sailing back to me
To free me from this spell?
She’s the one I loved and yet forgot
And still remember well
So well and yet so soon forgot
I’m still beneath her spell
The future brings so many things
Will it bring her to me?
Swimming in the ocean
The sun is always bright
And how much time does she have left
To spend with me tonight?
Walking by the water
Running on the shore
Wishing that I’d never said
I don’t need you no more
Jogging past so many
Trying to ease my mind
Wishing that I could forget
Regret that makes me blind
She’s the one I loved and yet forgot
And still remember well
So well and yet so soon forgot
She’s got me ‘neath her spell
The future brings so many things
Will it bring her to me?
Swimming in the ocean
‘Neath skies so pearly blue
And how much time do I have left
To fantasize of you?
Riding on my surfboard
Dancing in the foam
Wishing that the one I loved
Still lived within my home
Balancing on breakers
Shooting through the curl
Wishing that she meant no more to me
Than any other girl
She’s the one I need and though I plead
With sand and sky and sea
No one can hear a word I say
There’s no one hear but me
The future brings so many things
Will it bring her to me?
Rushing on my surfboard
Toward a beach so pearly white
If I should see her once again
Will she stay with me tonight?
Swimming in the water
Lying on the sand
Hoping that the one I love
Would come and take my hand
Swimming in the water
Lying by the sea
Hoping that the one I love
Would come and lie with me
She’s so near and yet so far and yet
She still seems near to me
So far and yet so near and yet
She still seems far from me
The future brings so many things
Will it bring her to me?
Swimming in the ocean
‘Neath skies so pearly blue
And how much time do I have left
To fantasize of you?
