Richard May - Channel

I am a photographer, a writer and a video enthusiast. I'm not a backpacking expert – I just like to get out and walk. My adventures are generally overnight trips, 20-30 miles long, within a two or three hour drive of New Orleans, every four to six weeks. This allows me to get out more often, on short notice and in different seasons and weather. It also means I can keep a light kit all year. Some day I'll hike some long trails like the Ozark Highland Trail, or the Sheltowee Trace. Eventually maybe I'll even do the PCT or the AT. For now though, I explore from my base in New Orleans getting to know what's here in The Swamp and surrounding areas.
