Wow these are pretty cool. So think about what Google Glass would have been like if it projected a high resolution screen directly in front of the user AND was powered by a high-end Snapdragon processor with full Android capabilities.
That's what Osterhout Design Group (ODG) has done with these smart glasses. They are selling these not so much as a lifestyle device as Glass was/is, but as a tool you can use when you need a large display but also want privacy. It projects what looks like a 65 inch screen in front of the user, and it can also implement augmented reality functions.
The glasses do not require a smartphone as all of the Android hardware is built right in. It has onboard Wifi and GPS as well as bluetooth for connecting peripherals.
I was really impressed with the quality of the display and look forward to seeing the finished product. It'll go on sale later this year for about $1000.
