For ages, the QWERTY (and all its regional variants) has been the standard for text input. From computers to smartphones, practically every electronic device that accepts text entry utilizes a keyboard styled after the age-old typewriter. But even with devices the size of the Galaxy Note II and gesture typing with text prediction, mobile typing via QWERTY isn't perfect. It can still be frustrating, and few are doing anything about it.
One company, 8pen, is. So I took the non-traditional keyboard for a week-long spin, using it to type everything from my phone. How did 8pen, an unorthodox text entry method fare? Surprisingly well, though it needs some fine-tuning.
