iPhone 4: First Impressions
Here are some first impressions of the iPhone 4 from Apple. To start, it doesn't feel as thin as Apple is making it out to be. It may indeed be the thinnest smartphone by measurement, at 9.3mm, but in the hand it doesn't feel thinner than, say, the Nexus One, or HTC HD2.
The device has a fantastic in-hand feel. It's made from glass and metal, which lends to a heftier amount of weight than the previous iPhone devices. Because the back is also glass, you now have two surfaces to keep clean, although a soft t-shirt goes a long way in removing fingerprints and smuges.
The retina display is gorgeous because you can't see pixels on the screen. So text looks painted on, and photos are incredibly sharp.
