Build your own circularly polarized cloverleaf or skew-planar antennas for the 5.8GHz FPV backpack.
This video shows you how to build the antenna for the FPV backpack and makes special allowance for the fact that most people are probably only have "average" soldering skills.
I'm sure there are some people who will complain that I don't place enough emphasis on accuracy of measurement or precision of construction but the results speak for themselves.
These antennas won't perform as well as a professionally-made unit but they have proven to give up to 2Kms of range when used in conjunction with the FPV backpack and up to 5Kms of range when used with a helical receiver antenna.
If you make these antennas using a piece of cable with an SMA or RPSMA connector already fitted then they can be used with any of the commercially produced 5.8GHz FPV transmitters or receivers as well.
