Call of Duty is a monolith of a franchise. At this point it has as many detractors as it has fans. Advanced Warfare seems to promise something new to Call of Duty experience. And moreso than any recent Call of Duty game, it delivers on that promise. Don't get me wrong, this game is Call of Duty to it's core. The campaign is exactly what you expect from a COD story; fast pace scripted events that give you little leeway on how to play the game, but make you feel like you're an action star in a blockbuster movie. Sledgehammer didn't stray far from the formula in this regard. And if you enjoyed other Call of Duty campaigns, I think you will definitely enjoy this one. The voice acting and motion cap work really shine here, and the series-first pre-rendered cutscenes are a welcome addition.
As far as multiplayer goes, this is where the game really shines. Like I said, it definitely feels like Call of Duty, but the EXO suit really make the game so much more fast paced and skillful. As in every Call of Duty there are perks and abilities that are suited for campers, but the speed of the game will outshite that aspect of the game, at least in my opinion.
