Tokoroa: full sized gliders

Some cool full-sized gliders were already on the ground when I arrived back at the airfield today after going out to do some filming.
I had a chat with the pilots and took a close-look at the planes themselves.
While competing in the New Zealand national championships, five 15m gliders found themselves out of lift and out of options while passing over Tokoroa Airfield so they had to land.
Two were flown out by the tow-plane, the other three were trailered out.
You'll see a couple of Discus gliders (is that two Disci?) and an ASW20 in this video.
Not much "action" in this video but the pop-up motor is pretty interesting and there's plenty of soothing summer sounds from the birds and (rather brisk) summer breeze.
These were the first full-sized aircraft to land here in many days.
What a great place for an international model park :-)
