Today Sonia will prepare the croque monsieur, a tasty and rich version of the sandwich from France... it's so easy, let's see how to make it!
***
Hi everyone and welcome to the GialloZafferano kitchen, today we'll be preparing together the croque monsieur, a typical French recipe consisting of a very substantial grilled sandwich. Let's see together what ingredients we'll need:
• 8 slices of sandwich bread
• ¾ lb (350 g) of béchamel sauce • 4 slices of ham (about 2 oz/60 g)
• 2 cups (200 g) of grated gruyere cheese
Let's make together the croque monsieur!
So, let's begin to prepare our croque monsieur, a succulent sandwich, as we said before, which in France has many variants: with ham, with hot dog, with cheese, and so on. The essential ingredient is the bechamèl sauce, of course you can find its recipe on the yellowsaffron channel. So, take the first slice of bread, a generous spoonful of bechamèl sauce, spread it evenly... lay on a slice of ham... and sprinkle over a generous handful of gruyere. Now cover with the other slice of bread... one more spoonful of bechamèl sauce... and one more handful of gruyere. And here is our croque monsieur. Now finish making the other two.
Our croque monsieurs are ready to be grilled. So, put them under the grill in the oven for a few minutes, until golden brown on top.
5 min. -- grill
Et voilà! Our croque monsieurs are ready to be tasted. From Sonia and GialloZafferano, bye and see you next videorecipe!
