The Vello SE10 Cold Shoe Rail is a great thing to have on hand as it expands your standard shoe mount allowing you to put up to two or more devices on the mount at once. I found this to be very well built, but at the price of around $20, I expected it to be made out of something other than just plastic.

The Vello SE-10 Cold Shoe Extension is a 4" bar that attaches to the shoe mount on your camera, and allows you fit more than one attachment to your camera (microphone, light, etc.), without interfering with camera operations. A double locking nut allows the bar to slide from side to side and to rotate. The bar has a 1/4"-20 female socket and a shoe on the bottom.
