The Lab is our weekly office rave up where we live stream some of the biggest and best names in dance music powered by a Void soundsystem. This week we welcome the underground sound of Alex Banks.
Alex Banks has a truly unique sound: deep, ethereal, bass heavy techno that spans tempos yet retains a signature feel. His DJs sets have become legendary, and since winning Ninja Tune's 'Solid Steel Mix' 2012 the word has spread.
Some extraordinary remixes for Bonobo, Husky Rescue and Andreya Triana have solidified his status as a great producer and he's now signed to Modeselektor's Monkeytown label.
Last month Banks released the 'All You Could Do' EP before following it up with his eagerly anticipated LP 'Iluminate'. Fans of Jon Hopkins, Daniel Avery and James Holden need to take note.
