On one hand this is a really nicely performing Windows 8.1 PC. It sports the new power sipping Core M processor, with great performance for most productivity tasks like email, Microsoft Word, and web browsing.
But the problem is the computer's overall design. It tries to be both a laptop and a tablet like the Microsoft Surface, but accomplishes neither. The wireless keyboard concept is interesting, but the keyboard only charges when it's docked to the back of the computer. Even though it can dock to the front as displayed in the product photo, the keyboard doesn't actually charge in that configuration. So it's entirely possible to have the keyboard cease to work when it's attached to the front and its battery dies. The keys are tiny and spaced too far apart making typing difficult.
The large overall bulk of the machine makes it feel large and heavy, even though it weighs just 2.4 pounds. It's not comfortable to hold in the hand like a dedicated tablet might. The screen bounces around a lot too, reacting to both screen touches and typing on the keyboard.
The keyboard lacks a trackpad and instead uses one of those little pointing nubs made popular on the IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad computers. It's not very accurate and difficult to get right. It also lacks any kind of scrolling capability like a trackpad might provide so you'll need to reach up to the touchscreen to scroll.
The speakers are tinny and do not sound all that great. Battery life comes in around 5 hours or so.
There are other better designed Core M laptops that have double the RAM and storage that cost the same. I'd suggest taking a look at one of those instead. This design just isn't usable for me. But I do like its performance.
