Galaxy 'Ripped' Apart During Collision - Gas Motion Observed | Video

Using the European Very Large Telescope's MUSE instrument, researchers have been able to compile observations of galaxy ESO 137-001 slamming into a enormous galaxy cluster and the movement of gas in the aftermath. The galaxy will lose most of its blue star-forming gas.
