A new fan for the HK Dolphin Jet EDF RC plane
You all heard the horrendous noise that the original 55mm EDF made when I reviewed the HK Dolphin Jet EDF RC plane so I set about trying to balance up that impeller to improve things.
Unfortunately, the impeller itself simply has too much runout to be fixable -- which leaves only one option: replace the old 55mm unit with a nice big 70mm one!
So, out with the old, in with the new and with a fresh battery we should be pulling about 350W on 3 cells. That should pep-up an already fun-to-fly model a little.
If that's not enough "power", I can see a 55A speed controller and 4S battery pack being fitted to this little bird.
