The XPRIZE mission is to bring about “radical breakthroughs for the benefit of humanity” through incentivized competition. They foster high‐profile competitions that motivate individuals, companies and organizations across all disciplines to develop innovative ideas and technologies that help solve the grand challenges that restrict humanity’s progress.
As a young girl, Zenia was inspired by her grandmother who contributed to the upliftment of the poor in slum areas near her home. Today, she has taken this inspiration to another level. Over the last 21 years, Tata has created a niche for herself by helping non-profits or social ventures leverage a market opportunity. She has opened diverse funding opportunities to several organizations and communities from across the globe, giving their business a much needed boost.
Zenia has worked in over 20 countries spanning across Asia, South Africa and Central America, and is passionate about her work with economically disadvantaged populations. But what sets her apart is her belief in the innate entrepreneurial qualities of the common man – everyone from your average Joe to the underprivileged. XPrize’s entry into India she believes will be the big test of her conviction.
