Venomancer as a farming position is a bit different than a typical carry because your goal is to become a tanky pushing nuking hero. Your damage comes largely from your ultimate and your gale. Your wards make it difficult for your opponents to engage on you, and very difficult for them to push on you.
As you pick up more and more items, your teamfight potential becomes extremely strong because of things like Aghs, Veil, and Guardian Greeves.
