A previously unreleased company video shows how challenging landing a Falcon 9 on a robot barge at sea can be. Many autonomous systems must act in concert and all must get their parts perfect. A single valve failing to close on time as commanded foiled the April 2015 attempt, causing one Merlin engine to burn a few seconds too long. Too much thrust in the wrong direction made for a tipsy rocket core.
