Samsung’s top of the line JS9500 curved SUHD TV incorporates both wide color gamut and high dynamic range for a picture that comes as close to cinema quality as you can get in the home.
It does this by producing fine color gradients that have never been possible in a television before. Unfortunately, content that takes advantage of this processing technology is hard to come by. We have a couple movie clips remastered in HDR with wide color gamut for testing here in our lab. Side by side with upconverted Blu-ray, the difference is striking. The increased contrast helps the image leap off the screen, and the richness of color is memorizing.
Being a flagship TV it features Samsung’s One Connect Box, which can be constantly updated with the latest model to keep the TV up to date with the most UHD standards that are still in the works. Pricing for the JS9500 Curved SUHD TV Series starts currently at $5,000.
