Heralded as a musical phenomenon - Shapeshifter's unique blend of heavy soul, and drum + bass is every bit as rugged and epic as the landscape of their native New Zealand. Like Jonah Lomu on a D+B mission, their ground breaking sound will knock you off your feet.
Following the release of ''The System Is A Vampire'', Hospital have called in a legion of Drum + Bass talent called in to create an awesome EP of remixes. The likes of Netsky, Logistics, State of Mind and The Upbeats are all masters of their game and sure enough - with the raw energy of Shapeshifter’s material to work with they have each created something special.
First up fellow NZ residents State Of Mind deliver a powerful take on album opener “Dutchies”. A searing synth work out with a grinding dancefloor mixdown. P Diggsss vocal cries out “Welcome to the Ride” – the perfect set opener, this anthem has been setting off Hospitality events across the UK and worldwide.
Man of the moment Netsky stamps his trademark 2010 sound on “The Touch”. Acoustic pianos and clean vocals give way to glitching electro arpeggios and a riffing sawtooth bassline. Netsky mania continues and the Belgian whizzkid continues to justify his hype.
The Upbeats original remix of “Twin Galaxies” was a highlight of Sick Music2, this VIP retouch brings the vibe to vinyl perfectly, while on the final slice of wax, Logistics awesome remix of “Lifetime” rounds off the package perfectly. His trademark crisp beats and clean bass sound result in a piece of music with an effortless groove.
