This is probably the last Palm-branded device we'll see before HP begins stamping its familiar logo on the next generation of Pre phones. Regardless, the Palm Pre 2 continues the WebOS journey with WebOS 2.0, which is laced with some highly attractive upgrades, clocked by a 1GHz processor—the first in the Palm legacy. Although the Palm Pre 2 may not look like a major divergence from the Palm Pre Plus, the little slider has plenty of tricks up its sleeve when it comes to its overall OS experience. We liked the first Pre, and its sequel does not disappoint. However, while the Palm Pre 2 excels with a browsing platform rife with innovation, the external package hasn't really developed to compete with the times. We will say that a phone like the Pre 2 is tailored for a specific crowd—the diehard multitasker—and for that user, this phone is unstoppable.
