ASUS Zenbook UX305 Ultrabook Review - Fanless Macbook Air alternative laptop with new Core M chip

This is an impressive machine, especially considering its $699 suggested retail price. It comes equipped with 8 gigs of RAM, an incredibly fast 256 gigabyte SSD, and a fanless 5th generation Intel Core M processor.

Performance is remarkable considering the fanless architecture. It performs better than my 2012 Macbook Air running with a previous generation i5 processor.
It also has more ports compared to the Macbook - 3 USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI output, and they even throw in a USB to Ethernet adapter in the box.
Performance across the board surprised me. Will this best current i5 and i7 processors? Definitely not. But it does do extremely well for Office tasks like word processing and Excel and web browsing. It also can run games at decent frames rates too.
In short? This is a tremendous value. It's built as nicely as a Macbook Air 13, yet costs considerably less. I highly recommend it.
