We all have experienced, at least once, the metaphysical questions that nag us for answers as we go about our lives. What is the meaning of life? Why are we here? What is happiness? An abstract concept that only several lucky beings have, or a possibility for each individual to obtain? In this talk, Aileen draws ideas and patterns from books, her personal experiences, and people she has encountered, to fully address these and numerous more questions that many people face every day. She explains how the power of human purpose can be utilized to improve strength, happiness, and contentment.
Aileen Tang is a junior at Dougherty Valley High School with a fascination for psychoanalysis and psychotherapy. She has a passion for analyzing the “whys” of human behavior, constantly observing patterns of motivation and thought to further her understanding of the human psyche. She spends a large amount of her time researching behavior and psychological patterns, as well as utilizing the Myer-Briggs Typology theory to type and further understand people.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at
