How To Make FOURTH OF JULY CAKES! Red, white, and blue vanilla cakes with buttercream and candy!

SURPRISE! I made an EXTRA vid for you guys this week to celebrate the FOURTH OF JULY! I decided to make vanilla cakes with three different colours of buttercream (red, white and blue obviously) and three different techniques! I smoothed the buttercream on the blue cake, piped it on the white cake and combed it on the red cake! I coloured the buttercream with red and blue gel food colouring and then I topped the three cakes with all of the candy I could get my hands on. I hope you guys enjoy it! xoxoxo

VANILLA CAKES
I baked one 10" square cake. From that I cut six 3" x 4" rectangle and cut the cakes into two layers. The ingredients are:
3 ¾ cups all purpose flour
1 ½ tablespoons baking powder
1 ½ cups unsalted butter, room temperature
2 ¼ cups granulated sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
6 large eggs
1 ½ cups milk
BUTTERCREAM
400g granulated sugar
4 large egg whites
1 pound (454g) unsalted butter, room temperature
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Gel food colouring (red and blue)

WHITE:
