At $200 it's priced about where it's video quality is - below that of the flagship GoPro Hero 4 black edition, but comparable to lower end cameras in the line. It shoots up to 1080p at 60 frames per second, or 1440p at 30 fps. Fans of slow motion will want to look elsewhere as the best it can do is 120fps at only 480p.
Battery life is decent for camera this size at about 90 minutes of recording time. I was impressed with that. But the battery is not replaceable so the entire camera needs to be charged before it can be used again.
There are two things that bug me about the Session: the first is the lack of image stabilization. It will give viewers a bumpy ride if a gimble isn't used.
The second issue is that it lacks a tripod mount which adds cost to the point of entry as additional accessories need to be purchased to get one.
But otherwise I like it for its rugged design and small form factor.
