so that you know more about this particular aircraft, it was built in Utah in the USA and the builder died of cancer. his family sold it to the gentlemen in the UK. beautiful aircraft, but the Stewart P51 was never designed with falconer V-12. those were used in the Thunder Mustang which while being a replica mustang is a completely different animal. this particular aircraft was powered by a chevy big block, which is what Jim Stewart planned when he designed the aircraft.
yes there are 4 dummy exhaust tubes, but it still sounded great. now, for the bummer part of the story, this aircraft recently crashed and while it is my understanding that the pilot was basically unhurt (someone else will have to verify that information) the aircraft was virtually destroyed. the wing is bent as is the fuselage and the engine from the firewall forward was torn from the airframe. very tragic ending to a very beautiful aircraft.
from the pictures that I have seen I'm not sure that it is even a starting point for a rebuild. sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings. I'm familiar with this aircraft, because it's home base was the same airport that I am based at, and I would visit the builder during the build.

the Mustang is a Stuart M1. 'Home' build kit from the States. It has a 500hp Chevvy V8 which gives it a better power to weight ratio than its fullsize father. 4 years with the CAA wrangling over paperwork which resulted in no aero's and no passenger in the back.!
