Starring Tom Weston-Jones ("Spooks"), Kyle Schmid ("Being Human", "Smallville"), and Anastasia Griffith ("Once Upon a Time", "Lipstick Jungle"), the show is set in 1860s New York City during the last gasps of the Civil War and follows tough but decent police detective Kevin Corcoran (Weston-Jones), a "copper" who returns from the war to discover that his daughter has been murdered and his wife is missing. Against a backdrop of poverty, crime and depravity, Corcoran tries to piece together what happened to his family while solving high-profile cases for the City. His investigations take him from the notorious Five Points neighbourhood to elegant but corrupt Fifth Avenue high society, exploring bitter racial tension and social struggles on the way.

"Copper" is created by three-time Emmy® Award-winner Tom Fontana and Academy Award-nominee Will Rokos and amongst the executive producers are Academy Award-winner Barry Levinson, Fontana, Rokos and Cineflix Studios' Christina Wayne. "Copper" has already proven to be a huge success in the U.S. where it airs on BBC America, becoming the broadcaster's highest-rated series premiere. It is the second show, after Norse epic "VIKINGS", to make its debut in the UK on LOVEFiLM Instant, bypassing traditional broadcasters to bring the whole series to fans in one go.
