The D-Link Camera Video Recorder is a stand alone device that will record everything your compatible D-Link network camera sees. The camera can also send its event data to the DVR, making it easy to find areas of the recording that need to be investigated in more depth. It works quite well, although I found its web-based software to be very flaky. It requires both Java and ActiveX, meaning it only works on Internet Explorer and will not work at all on a Mac. My Windows 7 machine had difficult connecting, although an older Windows XP did work. Alternatively D-Link offers native Windows software that will read the files directly from the disk.
