Vishal - Shekhar take this R. D. Burman classic and give it their own twist for the Jhankaar Beats competition. The song ends with the trio winning the hearts of everyone present at the competition as they all join Neel in singing the song, as Deep and Rishi leave the competition midway to rush Shanti to the hospital as she goes into labour.
'Jhankaar Beats' is a musical comedy film. Deep (Sanjay Suri) is happily married to Shanti (Juhi Chawla), with a little daughter Muskaan and another baby on the way. Rishi (Rahul Bose) has issues with his wife Nicky (Rinke Khanna). Rishi and Deep, apart from being best friends and colleagues, are also dedicated musicians, obsessive about the music of R. D. Burman and compete in an annual pop music contest called "Jhankaar Beats". They meet Neel (Shayan Munshi), who is the son of their boss and an ace guitarist. Neel is attracted to a pretty girl, Preeti (Riya Sen). How the central characters balance their lives around love, friendship and music, forms the rest of the story.
