This drive performs at about the same read performance as the competing Samsung T3 drive reviewed here: - but the Samsung does have the edge on write speeds both in sequential and random operations.
While this drive costs the same as the Samsung T3, WD has included a cable and adapter to work with both USB-C and regular USB equipped computers. The Samsung requires a separate cable to interface directly with a USB-C equipped PC.
