Deep fried pakodas made with lotus stem slices.
KAMAL KAKDI KE PAKODE
Ingredients
2 lotus stem (kamal kakdi), sliced
Oil for deep-frying
½ cup gram flour
2 tablespoons rice flour
1 tablespoon finely chopped ginger
2-3 green chillies, finely chopped
1 teaspoon carom seeds
Salt to taste
Method
1. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
2. Mix gram flour and rice flour in a bowl, add ginger, green chillies, carom seeds and salt. Add sufficient water and mix to make a smooth batter.
3. Sprinkle salt over lotus stem slices.
4. Dip lotus stem slices in the batter and deep-fry in hot oil till crisp and brown on both the sides.
5. Serve hot.
