Centuries ago, John Jameson purchased the Bow Street Distillery in Dublin, Ireland. Jameson Whiskey was born shortly thereafter, and the world has never quite been the same. Today, if you’re in Ireland doing some sightseeing, the Old Jameson Distillery is a popular spot to explore. Even if you’re not a fan of their fabled whiskey, you’re bound to find the distillery an interesting stop on your jaunt to the Emerald Isle.
Tours of the Old Jameson Distillery are available for those curious about the brand’s history. You can wander through a recreation of the distillery during its earlier years, learn about the process required to make the famous liquor, and, of course, enjoy a sample of whiskey at the end of the tour. If you still haven’t had enough Jameson after the tour, stick around; the Old Jameson Distillery houses a restaurant and three bars, so you can responsibly enjoy a little more of its prize product.
