Mixmag & Coors Light present One Records takeover
More One Records: /
The Soundsystem? Void.
The Lab LDN is Mixmag and Coors Light's weekly live stream, powered by Void Acoustics, where we showcase the finest DJs direct from our world famous office party.
This Friday we welcome One Records founders Adam Shelton and Subb-an to perform a special 90 minute label showcase.
The Birmingham-hailing duo first met in 2005, and quickly hit it off, forming a close personal and musical relationship that led to the launch of One Records in 2009. Since then the label has clocked up 40 releases, coming from the likes of DJ W!ld, iO (Mulen) and John Dimas, establishing itself as a leading outlet for club-primed house.
As DJs, Adam Shelton and Subb-an embody their imprint, crafting groove-laden sets that touch upon everything from acid house to trippy minimal that has seen them grow into internationally sought after selectors, with gigs lined up together in Berlin, Barcelona and at Gottwood festival over the coming months.
The next One Records release sees the pair team up for a split-EP titled ‘Self Control/Only Now’, each working with vocalist Isis Salam to create two distinct tracks. Subb-an’s effort fronting the record is texturally deep, while Adam Shelton offers a more muscular production on the flip.
We can’t wait to hear where they take us in The Lab LDN. This week's live stream starts at 5pm GMT. You can tune in live over on our Facebook page and re-watch on MixmagTV from 6:30pm GMT.
‘Self Control/Only Now’ is out on April 17, pre-order it via Juno
