I fixed the faulty Eachine Wizard X220S received for review - I'm just sorry that I was too cold to really enjoy the test flight (damned winter!)
A faulty inverter on UART6 was the cause of the problems with the Eachine Wizard X220S but thanks to the fact that the included RC system will also do iBus (which doesn't need an inverter), I was able to get this little quad flying!
It flies well enough but neither I (nor the supplied battery) like those RaceFlight clone props.
Some other issues I noticed since the last video:
Pros:
- the FPV camera works really well
- the tune of the flight controller is fine
- handling is good (but a little "floaty" with those props
Cons:
- there's not a drop of Loctite in the entire build (WTF?)
- the FPV performance is poor (probably a poorly made antenna)
- the supplied battery is definitely *not* 75C and sags badly
My thoughts:
Although you do get a lot for your money, this quad really lacks the attention to detail and quality control that would turn it from a "good" buy into a "fantastic" buy.
The fact that you'll need to undo every bolt and add thread-locker means that this is simply a "loosely assembled kit" and not really an RTF.
Never the less, it flies well, is well spec'd and I'm sure that a new FPV antenna and props would make it much more fun to fly.
I'm giving the Eachine Wizard X220S a solid 7 out of 10.
