Unboxing: Losi 8ightT Gas Powered Truggy RTR
In a spontaneous moment of "holly crap, that's cheap!" I bought a gas powered Losi 8ight-T. My good friend Paul called me up on Wednesday (28.10.15) and told me about this deal going on at the Horizon Hobby website - there was the 8ight-T truggy, the 8ight Buggy and the 1/5 scale Mini Cooper all going at ridiculous prices. I went for the Truggy straight away and placed my order on the spot. For the price of US$299 (AU$438+postage), it was just too good to pass up. Immediately after, both Paul and I shared the news with our good friends Chris from Hemistorm RC and Jeremy from RC Militia who also wasted no time in grabbing one for themselves as well. However, Chris had to contact Reed from Urban RCLA to buy it for him and then ship it to him in Norway as Horizon did not provide a shipping option to Norway. Soon after that, Chris, Jeremy and I shared the news of the sale on our respective Facebook pages/groups and within 24hrs of the news spreading through various avenues of social media, the cars were all gone.
Questions remain as to "why" the massive price drop and a few theories have been tossed around such as "upgraded versions due out soon" and/or "lack of sales", but no one really knows. So I guess only time will answer these questions...
