A vision for New Zealand | Guy Ryan | TEDxWellington

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. What role can youth play in developing a better New Zealand.
A proud West Coaster, Guy grew up in Granity playing every sport possible until he discovered surfing.
The surf took him to Dunedin where he studied design and marketing, and then onto a Masters in Science Communication. With a keen interest in business and creativity he co-founded a student-led film production company that won several international awards, and developed a few other events and organisations along the way.
Now Wellington-based, Guy is the Founder & CEO of Inspiring Stories Trust – operating nationwide with the vision to see every young New Zealander unleash their potential to change the world. Now in its fourth year, the Trust has an impressive track record of partnerships and programmes including the flagship national event, Festival for the Future, and an accelerator programme that supports young people to bring to life their ‘ideas for a better New Zealand’.
His current adventure is helping to develop the national ‘youth pipeline’ strategy to grow New Zealand’s next generation social entrepreneurs and enterprise, and he still gets out to the Wairarapa for a surf whenever he can!
