Super healthy dhokla made with the combination of broken wheat and oats.
HEALTHY BROKEN WHEAT AND OATS DHOKLA
Ingredients
1 cup broken wheat, soaked in lukewarm water for 20 minutes and drained
1 cup rolled oats
½ cup gram flour
½ cup fresh finely chopped coriander leaves + for garnishing
A pinch of sugar
Salt to taste
1 tablespoon ginger-green chilli paste
1 cup yogurt
1 teaspoon oil + for greasing
1 teaspoon fruit salt
Method
1. Grind oats to a coarse powder.
2. To make batter, mix ground oats, gram flour, broken wheat in a bowl. Add coriander leaves, sugar, salt, ginger-green chilli paste, yogurt and little water to make a thick batter. Set aside for 20-30 minutes.
3. Heat sufficient water in a steamer.
4. Add oil and fruit salt to the batter. Mix well.
5. Grease the steel plates with oil, pour batter onto it. Tap lightly.
6. Place the plate in the steamer. Cover and steam for 10-12 minutes.
7. Cut the dhokla in square pieces, place them on a serving plate, garnish with coriander leaves and serve immediately.
