This little 180-size racer would be a perfect introduction to the sport for anyone wanting something that is easy to build, tough and pretty easy to fly. I don't think I will ever break that 4mm base-plate, although the Mobius plate could do with being thicker or having fewer cut-outs.
One thing's for sure, this little tank will be getting a lot of flight time in the upcoming summer and will be a very safe way to introduce a lot of new people to the sport of miniquads.
Configuration (as flown):
Motors: SunnySky 2204/2300
ESCS: RC Timer 20A BLHeli
Flight Controller: Naze32 Rev 5 (Cleanflight)
Receiver: FrSky D4RII in CPPM mode
Battery: Turnigy Nanotech 3S 1300mAH 45C
Pros:
- super-tough
- simple to build
- surprisingly capable
- excellent PDB and LEDs
Cons:
- mobius plate a bit weak
- rubber vibration isolators too stiff to be effective
- some cameras may be hard to get enough tilt on
