This refreshing chaat can be enjoyed as an evening snack or to fill in the gap between meals. Originating from one of the most interesting genres in Indian cooking, this chaat is delectable.
APPLE CHAAT
Ingredients
1 medium red Washington Apple
1 medium green Washington Apple
½ inch ginger
¼ tsp black salt
½ tsp chaat masala
Salt to taste
Crushed black peppercorns to taste
Juice of ½ lemon
1 tbsp honey
10-12 fresh mint leaves
¼ tsp roasted cumin powder + for sprinkling
Toasted white sesame seeds for sprinkling
Fresh mint sprigs for garnishing
Method
1. Grate ginger in a bowl. Add black salt, chaat masala, salt and crushed peppercorns and mix well.
2. Deseed and chop red Washington Apple and green Washington Apple. Add to ginger mixture along with lemon juice and honey and mix well.
3. Finely chop mint leaves, add to apple mixture along with ¼ tsp roasted cumin powder and mix well.
4. Put the apple chaat into individual pattal bowls, sprinkle some roasted cumin powder and sesame seeds and serve garnished with mint sprigs.
