Please visit = for more information on the Losi 1/10 Rock Rey 4WD RTR with AVC.
We going to walk you through changing out the steering servo arm on the Losi Rock Rey. You have 2 replacement options, one is to replace with the stock piece, the other is to upgrade to an aluminum servo arm for improved durability. You will need a 2mm Allen Wrench for this task.
The first thing we’re going to do is remove the body. There are 4 2mm screws attaching the hood to the cage, and 4 more 2mm screws holding the side panel to the cage. Be careful when removing the screws to not misplace or lose the retaining washer. Once the screws have been removed, which we’ve already done here, the body comes right off. There is an additional small body panel you will need to remove once the hood has been removed and are held in-place by 2 2mm screws. Once the body panels are removed there are two more 2mm screws, right here, on the bottom side of the chassis you need to remove to allow removal of the inner chassis guard.
With the inner chassis guard removed you can access the 2mm screws which hold the servo to the servo mounts. There’s an additional screw which hold the drag link to the servo horn. By removing these screws you’ll be able to remove the servo itself.
If you are having trouble accessing the 2mm screw on the servo horn you can remove one of the screws which attaches the driver’s figures to the roll cage which will allow you to pull the figures back slightly, giving you a little more access to the screws.
Once the screws retaining the servo have been removed you can pull it out like so, rotating it so you have access to the 2mm screw which holds the servo arm onto the servo itself. This Rock Rey already has the new servo arm installed, and we went with an aluminum arm for better durability. Before installing your new arm on the servo spline power your Rock Rey up and have all the trims centered, this will ensure you have the arm as straight as possible and require only minor trim adjustments once installation is complete.
Once everything is installed and centered reinstall the 2mm screw and place the servo back between the servo mounts on the chassis. You may find it easier to reinstall the drag link onto the servo arm before installing the servo back onto the servo mounts as you can move the servo so you have clearance around the cage and body panels.
Reinstall the 4 2mm screws that held the servo in-place and reinstall the inner chassis guard, noting there are slots for it to key into the cage. Re-install the small body panel using the 2 2mm screws, the side panel using the 4 2mm screws and finally the hood using the 4 2mm screws.
We hope this helps if you ever need to replace a servo arm on your Losi Rock Rey. Thanks for watching.
