In just two short months after its release in October, ‘Mad World’ proved to be one of the biggest dance tracks of the year, establishing itself as both Hardwell’s biggest hit of 2015 and a favourite amongst his loyal fan base. This progressive house anthem set a high water mark for the year in terms of dance music, and with 2015 coming to a close and Hardwell signing off on another hugely successful year; Revealed Recordings now release a remix compilation of the unforgettable tune, packed with a selection of the brightest talent in dance music, available from January the 4th.
Quintino, Moksi, Sephyx, Olly James and Ryan & Vin all lend their unique talents to this collection, transporting ‘Mad World’ through a series of different tones and ideas, and elevating the tune beyond EDM and into brand new territory. Quntino’s heavy blast-beat reimagining is followed by a forward thinking future-house interpretation from Dutch duo Moksi, whilst Sephyx reinvents the track as a hardstyle odyssey. Olly James and Ryan & Vin complete the set with a groove heavy, rhythm focussed remix, before an exquisite acoustic version of the original sees in the new year with introspective style.
It goes without saying that Hardwell’s 2016 looks to be even bigger than the previous, but the same can be sad for all of those involved in this remix compilation. The future looks impossibly bright for the Revealed roster and the names included on this track list.
