Showcased on Jaytech's recent 'Anjunadeep:03' compilation, 'Unit 29' is the latest progressive anthem from Timmy & Tommy - the hotly tipped Northern Irish duo who were recently awarded single of the month in DJ Magazine.
Drawing on classic deep trance textures, as well as a modern progressive groove, 'Unit 29' manages to bridge the genre barriers perfectly. While rising melodic waves build to an epic crescendo in the breakdown, the track slips effortlessly back into a modern progressive groove - before easing the melody back in perfectly.
On the remix, progressive masters Sebastian Krieg and Roman F strip things back with a cheeky, hypnotic groove. Initially working with a more sedate interpretation of the original's lead riff, the duo then add a clipped melody which gradually builds to a second, deeply uplifting breakdown.
