It's Official GoPro Discontinues Karma Drone

Unfortunately today GoPro has made it official that they are discontinuing the Karma Drone and exiting the aerial drone market altogether. This information was made available in their Preliminary Fourth Quarter 2017 Results that was released this morning.
GoPro will stop selling the Karma when their current inventories are gone but will still support them for existing customers.
This is bothersome on two levels: First I think the Karma drone had lots of potential and I think they gave up to early. Second: There is now less competition in the drone market. That is never good for anyone!
