There is no such thing as the "best upper material" when it comes to football boots as all the different upper materials have unique features - so your job is to find out what it is you want from your new football boots. Here is a brief explanation of the different uppers and their main features;
LEATHER FOOTBALL BOOTS
- Soft, elegant and plushy touch to the ball
- Leather is a natural material which means you might have to give it some time to break your leather boots in - but once you do that, leather boots tend to be very stretchy and comfortable
- Remember to take care of your leather boots with leather balsam and other leather care products
- Leather boots tend to be more water-absorbing than synthetic or knitted boots, so if you're looking for a lightweight boot, maybe leather football boots are not for you
SYNTHETIC FOOTBALL BOOTS
- Synthetic boots come in all shapes and sizes, but in general they tend to be the more lightweight football boots
- Compared to leather boots, synthetic boots dont need that much maintenance, meaning you dont have to take care of them as much as your leather boots
KNITTED FOOTBALL BOOTS
- If you're looking for that infamous sock-like fit, knitted boots are your choice
- Knitted boots also come in high cut models if you're interested in that
- Expect a very close-to-the-ball feeling ball touch when playing with knitted football boots
