The Nike Mercurial Superfly V sees the introduction of the latest Nike AG sole plate, made especially for use on artificial pitches with rubber pellets. But why do you even need AG boots when you have perfectly fine FG boots that you use on artificial grass? JayMike takes you through why using AG boots on artificial pitches is imperative.
GET YOUR OWN NIKE AG FOOTBALL BOOTS HERE:
The Nike Mercurial Superfly V AG is built for the harder and more rough surfaces of artificial grass pitches, where the synthetic grass straws and the rubber pellet filling generates a lot of heat when you move, and is therefore much more abrasive on the sole plate. Because of that, if you use normal FG (Firm Ground) boots on an artificial pitch, you lose your warranty and the you boots will most likely break faster. The new Nike Mercurial Superfly V AG is built to withstand that extra abrasion but also maintain the focus on speed with the anatomical soleplate and the bladed studs underneath the forefoot. Also, it still features the Flyknit upper with Speedribs and the Dynamic Fit Collar to give you a fast, durable and injury-free experience while still being the fastest man on the pitch.
