This shirt is smarter than most and it's called e-skin. E-skin monitors fitness and health when you move. This smart shirt was created by Xenoma, which is a spin-off from the University of Tokyo. How does it work? There is a battery, micro-computer and motion sensor that are all connected. The 14 sensors on the shirt measure temperature, blood oxygen and more.
The company claims it's comfortable to workout in despite all of the sensors. The data is sent via bluetooth to your phone. E-skin isn't just for athletes. Xenoma is exploring smart clothes for babies so parents could monitor their baby's temperature and pulse. Xenoma isn't the only company developing smart clothing. Polo has also developed their own "smartshirt." Would you wear smart clothing?
