Here are two segments of video showing the Foxeer Legend 1 side-by-side with the Runcam HD2 FPV action cameras, with some aerial footage (from my AXN on a very turbulent day) and some ground-based footage. My observations:
- the Runcam HD2 is definitely sharper. The Legend 1 seems to suffer the same slightly "soft" image as the Xiaomi Yi.
- The Legend 1's colors are more accurate than the Runcam's
- Both cameras exhibit a little lens flare but are pretty good compared to earlier cameras like the original Runcam and the Mobius.
- both cameras have excellent wide dynamic range although with default settings, the Runcam seems better at pulling detail out of the darker regions of the images (like the pine trees in the aerial footage).
Initial thoughts:
Both cameras are really good and I'd be happy with either although I'm leaning towards the higher bit-rate and sharper image of the Runcam over the more accurate colors of the Legend 1. However, I will be doing more testing and doing more in-depth analysis of the video these cameras record in the coming weeks.
