Buy it on Amazon - (affiliate link) -The Asus C201 is a nicely built Chromebook for a very low, sub $200 pricetag. With 2 gigs of RAM it costs only $169.
It's powered by a Rockchip processor that performs almost as well as some Intel powered Chromebooks - including the Asus C200. Yet it costs significantly less and gets ridiculously long battery life in excess of 12 hours per charge.
The processor in here is identical to the one found on the Haier Chromebook I reviewed recently. The C201 costs about $20 more but it's worth the added investment given how much better the build quality is on the Asus. Asus makes excellent low-end hardware and this is no exception.
Web browsing is great considering its price tag, and I was very impressed with how fast YouTube video spun up on the C201. This is due in part to the built in AC wireless that also supports 5ghz networks. This is probably the first low cost PC I've seen with that kind of network support.
This is a perfect first computer for a kid. It costs next to nothing, performs great on the web, and is well built. I can definitely recommend this one.
