Jeff Randall und Mike Perrin starteten als Tourguides im Jungle von Peru. Mit den dort gewonnene Erfahrungen eröffneten die beiden die Survivalschule "Randall's Adventure and Training", kurz RAT. Daraus wiederum entstand die Firma RAT Cutlery, die seit 2007 für Outdoor und Survival konzipierte Messer entwickelt.
