Have you ever tried and just get your kids to walk a few miles with you? Watch and learn as David Kallin, husband, father, and outdoor adventurer describes his family’s extraordinary adventure trekking the 2,185-mile Appalachian trail. In his talk, David describes the challenges and tremendous rewards of watching his young children (ages 8 and 9) navigate the arduous five-month long hike from Georgia to Maine. The Kallin Family are now among an elite group of only 16 families who have completed the trail start to finish.
David Kallin is a husband and father of two who believes in the importance of outdoor adventure as a family activity. The Kallin family (with two young kids) has a long history of human-powered outdoor adventures, including multiday backpacking, biking, and cross country skiing trips. A former oceanographer, David now practices law as an attorney at the Portland, Maine law firm Drummond Woodsum with a focus on natural resource, land conservation and municipal law. David will be speaking about his family’s most recent adventure: a five month end-to-end hike of the Appalachian Trail from Springer Mountain in Georgia, to Mount Katahdin in Maine.
