Moritz from Fenchel & Janisch has tested the GoPro Hero6 Black for a week and discovered: It's not just a sports camera anymore!
Even though the main reason to get this action camera is probably the ability to shoot 60 frames per second in 4K (it's actually Ultra HD = 3840x2160) the Hero6 Black shows its true power when recording in 2.7K. And that is mostly due to the amazing image stabilization and the ability to switch to a linear wide angle view without the typical GoPro fisheye look. Even when walking the footage looks like it was shot using a camera stabilizer like a gimbal. There are still a few bumps visible but overall the footage looks smooth.
We also shot photos in GoPro's raw file format as well as raw timelapses which gave us much more room to play with in post production.
